At 19:18 on December 30, 2025, more good news emerged from the Weda Bay Industrial Park in Indonesia—the second acid production unit of the Blue Flame Sulfur-to-Acid Project successfully commenced its trial run and yielded qualified products. Leaders from the Engineering Management Division and the Hydrometallurgy Division of the Weda Bay Industrial Park witnessed this significant moment.
Since the project’s inception, the wet process project team has upheld the fine tradition of “daring to face tough challenges and achieving outstanding results.” They fully absorbed practical experience from the operation and commissioning of the first unit, proactively conducting system optimizations and upgrades. During the commissioning process and following the initial operation, zero leaks occurred across all systems, thereby achieving the high-standard construction goal of “zero accidents in safety and quality, alongside steady progress in accordance with the construction schedule.”
The successful operation of the second acid production unit marks the completion of all acid production units within the Blue Flame project. The two units can now support each other, ensuring a stable supply of sulfuric acid and steam to the high-pressure acid leaching section, while providing robust support for the full-load production of the entire hydrometallurgical project. The project owner highly praised the project team’s cross-industry execution and efficient contract fulfillment.

The Blue Flame sulfuric acid project was successfully concluded in 2025. Moving into 2026, the Weda Bay wet process project team will continue to review and summarize the two sulfuric acid projects in Guangqing. They will overcome challenges to establish benchmarks, demonstrate the value of industrial empowerment, and drive strategic implementation for development. This will lay a solid foundation for the company’s long-term growth in the chemical industry and contribute to its overseas strategy.
