To honor the memory of history, strengthen Party commitment, and commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, Project Party Branch I and Project Party Branch II jointly organized a red-themed film screening on August 15. Party members, probationary Party members, and key personnel gathered to watch Nanjing Photo Studio, drawing inspiration and strength through the power of cinema.
Set against the historical backdrop of the 1937 Nanjing Massacre, the film follows a group of ordinary citizens confronted with life-and-death choices amid the atrocities committed by the invading Japanese forces. After those seeking refuge in a photo studio unexpectedly obtain film negatives documenting the crimes of the Japanese military, their initial instinct for personal survival gradually evolves into a collective determination to ensure that history is never forgotten. Through the experiences of ordinary people, the film vividly portrays the horrific crimes committed during the invasion of China while highlighting the unwavering national spirit of the Chinese people, who chose to stand with dignity rather than surrender. It also powerfully reflects the patriotic conviction that every individual shares responsibility for the fate of the nation.
Following the screening, participants expressed that they were deeply moved by the film. The images captured on film preserve not only historical truth but also the enduring commitment of the Chinese people to national independence. As builders in the new era, Party members recognized the importance of carrying forward the fighting spirit of their predecessors by demonstrating courage, perseverance, and determination in the face of challenges.
Through this activity, participants not only received a profound lesson in patriotism but also pledged to translate the spirit of unity, integrity, responsibility, and dedication exemplified during the War of Resistance into concrete actions that support the high-quality completion of the project.
